Abstract: Post Apocalypse Stress Syndrome predicts that societies can experience shocks so strong that they change the very nature of the society itself. Previous historical examples include Europe during the Black Death and many Native Americans societies in the 19th and early 20th centuries. However, could it be said the United States is going through an apocalyptic event due to the combined effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, Black Lives Matter movement, economic recession, and election rioting? This paper will address that question and discuss what it is like actually living through an apocalyptic event.
